‘Dictador Art Masters’ is a unique project born from a singular vision, where nothing is impossible. Our story unfolds at an old rum distillery in the Colombian rainforest, where a group of world-renowned street artists and modern art creators have taken over the crumbling ruins. What was once an abandoned building becomes an art laboratory, distilling pure creativity. Hidden away from the nearest city by the wild jungle, and at least an hour’s drive from any crowds, it is a largely unknown and forgotten place. From afar only a singular brick column can be seen through the thick forest of lush palm trees and tropical vegetation.

Upon closer inspection, the incredible form of the buildings begins to take shape. A blank canvas of pipes, tanks, rusting machinery, and crumbling walls await our street artists. A space that was once purely functional is transformed into a place of beauty. Here, the only limits are an artist’s imagination. There is an imperceptible style in the industrial ruins.

On reaching the entrance to the distillery, the first thing that strikes you is the silence, which stands in stark contrast to the expected din of the location. Instead, the only sounds to be heard are those of nature – birdsong, sand, the wind rustling the palm leaves – only occasionally interrupted by the presence of humans.

The intense Equatorial sun of the Colombian tropics floods the open spaces with light, casting strange shadows that accentuate the shapes of the machinery and architecture. Every once in a while, the natural calm is broken by the distant rumble of engines or a plane preparing to land at the nearby airstrip. This lack of crowds and other distracting modern elements only adds to the inspiring nature of the space.

Artists fill the gap left by factory workers, operating the distillery with an entirely different goal in mind, shifting the space into a new dimension with their art. In reshaping the location, they reshape time as well, leaving a lasting impression deep in the jungle. Building upon their wealth of experience, our “industrial contortionists” join together in a process of transformation – this alchemy will potentially lead to some of their most important and most personal works.

Not only will this become one of the most important places on the urban art global map, it will certainly be the most magical and mysterious one as well.
